Mary K. Halasz, 82, passed away peacefully, on Friday, July 16, 2021, at home in Hamilton, with her devoted son at her side, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born and raised in Roebling, NJ, she was a longtime Hamilton area resident.

At an early age after graduating High School, she worked at a title company when she met her husband to be. A few months later they were married and moved to Hamilton Twp. where they started their family. After raising their family, she returned to work for the State of New Jersey, where she worked for more than 25 years. Her time working at the Criminal Justice Department were the best years of her time with the State.

Mary was a woman of strong faith, she loved going to church, and was a lecture and Eucharistic Minister at Sacred Heart Church. She enjoyed jelly donuts, soap operas, old movies, reading about history, shopping for clothing and jewelry. Mary also enjoyed going to the opera, spending time at the Jersey Shore, current events, and the music of Andy Williams. She collected old family photos, and it brought her great pleasure to give gifts to family and friends.

She was a generous, selfless woman who loved to give more than receive. For example, her grandson Brandon’s best childhood memory of her, is her surprising him with a trip to the Cherry Hill Mall to the meet his favorite NFL quarterback.

Mary loved holidays, birthdays and any occasion she could celebrate. She would meticulously plan and decorate and arrange for each event. She loved to prepare traditional holiday foods, and she was an exceptional baker.

Her grandson Ryan always enjoyed their talks about history and politics.
