John J. Guthrie

July 15, 1948 - December 19, 2020

John J. Guthrie, 72, passed away on December 19, 2020, at Penn Medicine Princeton Medical Center.

Son of the late John W. and Marie Guthrie, brother of the late Richard and Dennis Guthrie, he is survived by his wife of 52 years, Susan L. Guthrie of Yardville; his two daughters, Tammy Pesarini of Robbinsville, and Jaclyn Guthrie of Yardville; three Grandchildren, Mia Caterinicchio, Dean J. Pesarini, and Russel M. John was an electrical engineer and specialized in Astro Electronics. He worked at Lakehurst Naval Base and at RCA for many years before his retirement. Fixing things was a hobby for John and he never came across a thing he could not fix. In his spare time, he loved his garden, building things, and race cars. John was also an avid sportsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, and motorcycles. Other hobbies included Ham radio, he learned Morse code and communicated with people all over the world. Most of all John loved his family, adored his grandchildren, and was very close to his surviving siblings, Debbie and his youngest brother Kenny. You could always count on John to give you his honest opinion. You could not help but love him whether it was good or bad, he always had good intentions. John would give you the world if he could, he was always there to help when he could. Life was simple to dad; he loved his home and his family. John just wanted the people he loved to be happy, and that made him happy. He will be missed tremendously.
