Bertha Cook, 95, of Lawrenceville, passed away on Thursday, May 27, 2021, at Hamilton Continuing Care in Hamilton Township.
Born and raised in Trenton, she was a lifelong area resident, residing in Lawrenceville her whole adult life. Betty as she was known by family and friends graduated from Trenton Central High School and then proceeded to attend Rider University, graduating with an Associates Degree. She had a long career at Educational Testing Services, and was a longtime member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Lawrenceville, and was also a member of the Lawrence Senior Center. In her spare time, Betty and her second husband Alan traveled extensively around the world.
Daughter of the late Franklin and Bertha Hohmann, predeceased by her former husband Robert Gronikowski and Alan Cook, late brothers, Franklin, Lester, Carl, and David Hohmann; she is survived by her two daughters, Judith Lyons and Diane Eler; three step-children, Linda Burkert (Roger), Sandy Cook (Peggy Lang), and Kevin Cook; five grandchildren, Jody Kevett (Edward), William Lyons (Marilyn), Amy Chianese (Carmen), Jennifer Haubrich (Frederic), Christopher Eler (Katie); ten great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; as well as many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Relatives and friends may attend a visitation on Saturday, June 5, 2021, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Buklad-Merlino Yardville Memorial Home, 30 Yardville-Allentown Road in Yardville. A brief prayer service will be held at 12:00 p.m. at the Yardville Memorial Home. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family..
