August 24, 1950 - July 2, 2026


Wayne C. Francis, 75, of Plainsboro, NJ passed away peacefully on           Thursday, July 2, 2026 at home.


Born in Trenton, he was a lifelong resident of the area, most recently making his home in Plainsboro. A proud patriot, he honorably served his country in the United States Marine Corps., receiving an honorable discharge after three years of dedicated service.


Throughout his life, he pursued many different career paths, each reflecting his strong work ethic and diverse talents. He worked as a private investigator, shared his passion for martial arts as a karate instructor, and spent more than 20 years as a dedicated truck driver with Super Enterprises.


A former member of the Liberty Rescue Squad, he was always willing to lend a helping hand to others. In his spare time, he enjoyed practicing martial arts, staying active at the gym, and expressing his love of music by playing the drums with several local bands throughout the Trenton area.


Known for his remarkable versatility, he truly was a man of many talents—and mastered nearly every endeavor he set his mind to. Whether tackling a new challenge, sharing his knowledge with others, or perfecting a skill, he approached everything with determination, confidence, and pride.


Predeceased by his parents, Lawrence W.  Smith and Eleanor (Francis) Smith; and his loving partner and companion of 20 years, Donna A. Scirgova; he is survived by Donna’s daughter, Carla Fletcher and her husband, Justin; and their children, Jacob McGlinchy, Briana Fletcher, and Caitlyn Fletcher; as well as other relatives and dear friends, including those friends from Brooklyn Bagel.


A visitation to celebrate Wayne’s life will be held on Tuesday, July 7, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at the Buklad-Merlino Yardville Memorial Home, 30 Yardville-Allentown Road, Yardville.


A prayer service will begin at 11:00 a.m. with local clergy officiating.


Entombment will follow in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery Mausoleum, Hamilton, NJ.
