Walter Fajgier, Jr.

September 16, 1936 - July 17, 2020

Walter Fajgier, Jr. 83, of, Lakeside Park, passed away July 17, 2020 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at Hamilton. Born in Trenton, Walter was a lifelong area resident. He graduated from Hamilton High School West in 1954 and was drafted into the US Army having served in Germany on the Berlin Wall. After returning home, he went to work in his father-in-law’s business, Bottled Water Service, in Stockton, NJ. Walt went on from there to work for USX Fairless Steel until his retirement. He had many hobbies, which included woodworking, tinkering around the house and building, including an addition to his home. Walt was an original member of the Little Bigger League, now known as Babe Ruth Baseball. Most of all he loved his family and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.


Predeceased by his parents, William and Helen (Nierowsk) Bellora; his first wife, Carole (O’Hagan) Fajgier; brother, Stanley Fajgier; and granddaughter, Elena Carole Kucowski.


He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Bernice (Morgan) Mahoney Fajgier; children, Renee Fajgier Kucowski and husband Christopher, Walter III and wife Angela Fajgier; stepchildren, Dona and husband Wayne Giovinazzo, Mark Mahoney, and Diane Morgan Mahoney and husband Jet Weston; grandchildren, Shannon Mahoney-Pracko and husband Jason Pracko, Sean Mahoney and partner Lindsey Martin, Cara Giovinazzo, Cory Mahoney, Wayne “Tug” Giovinazzo, Shane Fajgier, Jake Fajgier, Juliana Kucowski and Gabriella Griffith; great-grandchildren, Aurora Rochford-Mahoney, Mia Pracko, Scarlett Barnes-Mahoney, Oliver Mahoney and Cole Anthony Pracko; sister Sandra (Bellora) Russo, brothers-in-laws and sisters-in-laws, Clarence “Turk” and Alyce Morgan, June and Richard Bodine, and Earle and Debbie O’Hagan as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.


Visiting hours will be held Tuesday, July 21, 2020 from 6:00pm-8:00pm at the Buklad-Merlino Yardville Memorial Home, 30 Yardville-Allentown Road, Yardville, and again on Wednesday, July 22, 2020 from 8:30am-9:30am with a prayer service at 9:30am. Interment will follow in Colonial Memorial Park, South Broad Street, Hamilton, NJ.


In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN, 38105
