Vincent H. "Homer" Staudinger

August 25, 1930 - August 5, 2023


Vincent H. “Homer” Staudinger, 92, of Yardville, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 5, 2023 at Preferred Care at Hamilton.


Predeceased by his parents, Stephen F. and Amanda (Baremore) Staudinger; his first wife, Elaine Werner Staudinger; he is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Eleanor “Ellie” (Margicin) Dietrich Staudinger; his children, Sharon (Dave) Perry, Paul (Mary) Staudinger, and Gwen (Tom) Stevenson; stepchildren, Mark Dietrich, Mary (Thomas) Partyka, and Michele (Raymond) Murphy; a brother-in-law, John Margicin; 23 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins, as well as many other relatives and dear friends.


Homer as he was affectionately known by his family and friends, was born in Hightstown, NJ and was a lifelong Mercer County area resident, residing in Hightstown, West Windsor, and Yardville. He was a graduate of Hightstown High School, Class of 1949. He was a longtime active parishioner of St. Vincent DePaul Church in Yardville, was a member of their Holy Name Society, and their Senior Citizens Club, and was active in many of the church activities. He retired in 1992 from American Cyanamid Agricultural Research Center in Princeton after 32 years of service. In his spare time, Homer enjoyed travelling, holiday get-together, family retreats at their cabin at the Delaware Water Gap, cars, and his dogs, those for hunting and family pets. But most of all Homer deeply loved his family, and he cherished lifelong friendships.


A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday, August 11, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Vincent DePaul Church, 555 Yardville-Allentown Road, Yardville, NJ 08620.


Visitation for family and friends will be held Friday, August 11, 2023 from 8:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. at the Buklad-Merlino Yardville Memorial Home, 30 Yardville-Allentown Road, Yardville, NJ 08620.


Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery, Allentown, NJ.
