Theodore S. Sanford

March 7, 1956 - January 4, 2026

Theodore S “Ted” Sanford, age 69, passed away on January 4, 2026, at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on March 7, 1956, in Monmouth County, New Jersey, he was a lifelong NJ resident, more recently residing in Columbus. Ted was the son of the late Arthur and Anna Sanford. He spent his life rooted in hard work, loyalty, and quiet devotion to those he loved.

Ted worked as a mechanic for most of his life, a career that reflected his strong work ethic. He was employed for many years with Trap Rock and Six Flags. For the past ten years, he proudly volunteered with the Wrightstown Fire Department, a role he deeply loved and took great pride in serving his community. In his spare time, he enjoyed working in his garage and garden and fixing anything that needed fixing.

A man of few words, Ted was a steady and constant presence. He showed his love not through grand gestures, but through reliability, support, and simply always being there when it mattered most. His love for his family and his dog, Cody was steadfast and unconditional. They were his greatest blessing, and he especially cherished the countless moments spent loving, guiding, and spoiling his treasured grandchildren.

Predeceased by his parents, Arthur and Anna Sanford; he is survived by his beloved wife of 38 years, Sandy Sanford; his children, Christina Szul, Caitlin and husband, Nick Angelucci; his cherished grandchildren, Mayla and Logan Szul, and Leo Angelucci; brothers, Arthur (Elise) Sanford, Gordon (Susan) Sanford, and David (Donna) Sanford; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends

Ted will be remembered for his strength, humility, and unwavering love for his family. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.

Visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, January 9, 2026 from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at the Buklad-Merlino Yardville Memorial Home, 30 Yardville-Allentown Road, Yardville.

A prayer service will begin at 1:00 p.m.

Interment will follow in Columbus Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Ted’s name may be made to the Wrightstown Fire Department, 21 Sailor Pond Road, Wrightstown, NJ 08562.

Ted was such a great man. I'm in shock to learn of his passing. My heart goes out to Sandy, Christina, Caitlin and his grandchildren. I will forever remember the many early weekend mornings having coffee, reading rhe Trentonian amd laughing with Ted at Park Place Cafe. He is now driving Frank (Elvis) in the St Patrick's Day parades in heaven. Let him forever rest in peace.

Ted..... I am still in shock! I loved that you and Sandy were my neighbors when I lived across the street in Homestead. You were just the nicest guy and always a true gentleman! We had many little talks while I was walking Bella and you were outside gardening, hard at work, as always, and when Bella saw you, she just had to give you some love! You always returned it, never minding her muddy paws, or slobbery kisses!

Our quick chats, some serious, some silly, were always fun. You took a photo of a flower to ID it for me, because I loved it and wanted to plant some in my garden. You helped me so many times, luggi…
