March 11, 1935 - November 27, 2022
Salvatore J. Avellino, 87, of Hamilton, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 27, 2022, at home surrounded by his loving family. On that unordinary day, a very extraordinary man departed this world much too soon, leaving behind cherished memories that will live on in the hearts and minds of all who had the chance to know and love him.
Born in Trenton, and raised in Chambersburg, “Sonny” as he was affectionately known by his family and friends, was a lifelong Hamilton area resident. He was a U.S. Army Veteran who proudly served his Country. He owned a contracting business with his son Scott for over 20 years, and later was employed for more than 20 years as an Inspector and Superintendent of Weights and Measures until his retirement. An avid golfer and Red Sox fan, he enjoyed spending time outside gardening, and trips to A.C. with family and friends. Sonny was a loving man with a great spirit who could light up a room with his sense of humor.
