Ruth Knight, 90, of Groveville, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Monday, September 22, 2025, at Serenity Hospice Inpatient Unit at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, Hamilton.

Born in Trenton, NJ, Ruth was a lifelong Groveville resident and a devoted 80-year member of the Groveville United Methodist Church. She served faithfully as choir director and pianist, continuing to play until her 90th birthday. She was also a longtime member of the church’s women’s group and outreach team, always cherishing the time she spent with her many wonderful church friends, who were like family to her.

Ruth was also active beyond her church community. She was a member, soloist, and organist for the Bordentown Chapter 257, Order of the Eastern Star, and a proud member of the Republican Party. She was a gifted musician and played the flute with the Trenton Symphony. As the proud wife of an Army Officer, she loved the experiences of living on different military bases across the country.

Above all, Ruth was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Predeceased by her parents, William L. and Alice Beatrice (Cook) McElmoyl, and her beloved husband, Richard C. Knight, she is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Lauren and Daniel Inman; grandchildren, Drew Inman and Erin (James) Boccardo; great-granddaughter, Lora; niece, Sandi Galayda; as well as many other relatives, her church family, and dear friends.

Memorial service details will be announced at a later date.

Services are under the direction of the Buklad-Merlino Memorial Homes, Hamilton.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Ruth’s name to the Groveville United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, 447 Church Street, Groveville, NJ 08620.

Like many, I have so many fond memories of Ruthie. May she rest in peace. I do believe she will be playing cards once again with her fellow angels, Betty, Gert and Dot ❤️❤️❤️❤️
