Ronald H. Cathel, Sr., 90, of Hamilton, passed away on Wednesday, May 15, 2019, at RWJ Hospital @ Hamilton.
Born in Trenton, he was a lifelong area resident.
An Army Veteran of the Korean War, Ron was the franchise owner of Charlie Chips in the Trenton area for many years, he was also the owner operator of the Jersey Bar and Grill in Trenton. Ron was a member of the Broad Street Park American Legion Post 313. In his younger years, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and trips to Florida. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Son of the late Earl and Etta Hovetter Cathel, husband of the late Betty S. Cathel, brother of the late Earl, Charles, and Paul Cathel, and Betty Lou Dolci; he is survived by his three children and their spouses, Ronald H. and Luanne Cathel, Jr. of Lakewood Ranch, Florida, Lonnie and Kathleen Cathel, of Burlington, and Lee and Joseph Crate, of Hamilton; eight grandchildren, Ronald III, Alessandra, Kera, Francesca, Amanda, Lonnie, Jr., Spencer, and Christopher; many nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.
Funeral services and burial were private and under the direction of the Buklad Memorial Home, 2141 South Broad Street in Hamilton.
