Rita M. Larkin

December 14, 1926 - June 14, 2024

Rita Margaret Nolan Larkin, of Yardville, died peacefully Friday, June 14, 2024.  She was 97 years old.  Rita was born on December 14, 1926, to parents William and Josephine Nolan, in Trenton.  She was raised in Newtown, PA., and was a graduate of Newtown High School, Class of 1944, now Council Rock North High School. After high school she was an employee of the US Postal Service.

She married her husband, Peter Hart Larkin, Jr., in 1948.  Together they raised their family in Yardville. She was a longtime employee of the Yardville National Bank, retiring in 1991 as a vice president.

Rita was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend.  She enjoyed life and was an avid sports fan, whether it was attending countless basketball, football and baseball games, along with dance recitals, she was always present for her family.  She loved weekends when she watched the Phillies, the Eagles, and college basketball on television.

She was an excellent cook and baker.  Her family spent many Sundays around the dining room table enjoying each other’s company along with her roast beef dinners.  Dinner ended with a slice of her apple pie.  Thankfully she shared her recipe with her granddaughter, Ryan, so her apple pie lives on.

Rita was one of a kind and we are so blessed to have had her in our lives.  She made us all better people and we will miss and love her forever.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 35 years, Peter Hart Larkin, Jr., in 1983; her husband of 8 years, Frank Ott, in 2008; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Bill and Dorothy Nolan, and Jack and Marie Nolan; her sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Ruth and Ed Dolton; her brothers-in-law and sisters-in law; Joe and Betty, Jack and Veronica; Al and Peg, Frank and Kay, Ed and Christine, Jim and Gloria, Bill and Marie, Jerry and Helen, and Harry and Madeline; and her stepsons Bob Ott, and Frank Ott.

Surviving are her daughter and son-in law, Joyce and Salvatore Maraziti, her three sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Marie, Mark and Christine, and Peter III and Judy; her grandchildren, Christina Baker, Eric and Meg Larkin, Lara Maraziti, Gregory and Rosa Larkin, Matthew and Courtney Larkin, Allison and Jeff Machiaverna, Caitlin and Joe Mastrangelo, and Ryan Larkin; her great-grandchildren, Nolan, Ben, Jack and Reese Larkin, June and Shayne Larkin, Dylan and Riley Machiaverna, and a soon to be Baby Boy Larkin due in August; and many nephews and nieces; her stepson and daughter-in-law, Tom and Debbie Ott, and stepdaughter-in-law, Mary Ann Ott, as well as many step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren; and many friends.
