Richard T. Brecko, 58, of Roebling, passed away peacefully Tuesday, February 11, 2025 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, Hamilton, surrounded by his loving family.
Richard was a graduate of Hamilton High West and dedicated over 40 years of his career to Yale Electric in Trenton. A passionate sports enthusiast, his love for athletics began early, pitching in Little League at just five years old. Even at 58, he remained active, playing both indoor and outdoor volleyball with his teammates. Richard had a deep appreciation for sports, cheering fervently for the Yankees, the Devils, and the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Beyond sports, he cherished his time at the Jersey Shore, where he could be found nearly every summer weekend. Richard was a devoted son, brother, and friend, whose kindness and spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Predeceased by his grandparents, William and Matilda May, and Joseph and Josephine Brecko; and his brother, Joseph T. Pagodin; He is survived by his parents, Dolores and Thomas Brecko; a sister, Donna Cattani; a brother, Michael and wife, Jennifer Brecko; and nieces and nephews, Bianca and Brandon Cook, Cyrus Cattani, and Michael and Lindsey Brecko .
Visitation for family and friends will be held Sunday, February 16, 2025 from 3:30 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
at the Buklad-Merlino Yardville Memorial Home, 30 Yardville-Allentown Rd., Yardville, NJ 08620.
Burial will be private.
