Ralph Bencivengo

September 4, 1939 - February 21, 2025

Ralph Bencivengo, 85, of Yardville, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 21, 2025 at Bear Creek Assisted Living in West Windsor.

Born in Trenton, NJ he was a lifelong area resident.  Ralph graduated from Trenton High School in 1957 and was a veteran of the US Air Force, having proudly served his Country.  After his military service, he dedicated many years to the State of New Jersey, as the Assistant Director of Law and Public Safety until his retirement.

Ralph had a deep passion for fitness and sports. At the age of 55, he earned a full scholarship to Mercer County Community College for tennis, a sport he both loved and excelled in. He not only played but also coached and taught tennis, sharing his knowledge and enthusiasm with many fortunate students.

Ralph enjoyed the simple pleasures of cutting the grass and caring for his lawn. He even found joy in shoveling snow, embracing it as a great workout. In his free time, he enjoyed shooting pool and spending time at the beach watching the sunrise with his wife.  A man who appreciated good food, Ralph especially loved a plate of ravioli, gnocchi and “my apple pie”. But above all else, he cherished his family, especially his beloved grandchildren. He was their “P-POP”.

Predeceased by his parents, Ambrose and Caroline (Tancreda) Bencivengo; Survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Eleanor (Papp) Bencivengo; 3 sons and daughters-in-law, Ralph Bencivengo and fiancé, Lindsey Weigand, Eric and Sarah Bencivengo, and Drew and Christy Bencivengo; a sister, Annette (Tom) Bentz; grandchildren, Anthony, Nicholas, Ella, Samuel, Lyric, Lacey and Amber Rose; a niece, Alycia Bentz and her son, Matthew; a nephew, Thomas (Jamie) Bentz; cousin, Joseph (Holly) Garemore, as well as many other cousins, relatives and dear friends.
