Philomena "Faye/Fannie" Kovac

June 28, 1928 - March 18, 2021



Philomena Kovac (Faye, Fannie) 92, passed away peacefully of natural causes on March 18, 2021 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital.


Faye/Fannie was born on June 28, 1928 in Trenton, NJ and lived most of her life in Hamilton while raising her family and moved to Whiting, NJ upon her retirement. She returned to Hamilton in her later years to be closer to her family. Faye/Fannie was a graduate of Trenton Central High School 1946. Upon graduation, she worked for the Horsman Doll Factory. Shortly after, she met the love of her life at one of the many dance halls in Chambersburg. She was employed with the Hamilton Township School District as a food service worker for 27 years and enjoyed spending her summers in Sea Isle City, NJ. Faye/Fannie enjoyed good food and music. She had a beautiful singing voice and was professionally trained in Philadelphia. She was often seen taking the microphone and singing at weddings or waving her napkin and dancing or singing the Baker’s Man at family get-togethers.


Faye/Fannie was predeceased by her parents, Gustave and Theresa (Howe) Napoleon; her husband Jack Kovac, her daughter, Janet Lepore, her brother, Gustave Napoleon, and her sister, Theresa Paglione. She is survived by her sons, John Kovac and his wife Helen (Re) Kovac, and Paul Kovac and his wife Michele; her brother, Joseph Napoleon; her grandchildren, Kristen Gonzales and her husband Shane, Courtney Kovac, John P. Kovac and his wife Joanna, Paul Kovac Jr., Dana Sbarro and her husband Brian, Blair Loretucci and her husband Kevin; and seven great grandchildren, Francesca, Josephine, Salvatore, Nina, Dominic, Colette, and Lucia and many nieces and nephews.


Arrangements are private and under the direction of the Buklad-Merlino Memorial Homes, Hamilton, NJ.
