Philip Thomas Ferrara

August 25, 1943 - July 24, 2026

Philip Thomas Ferrara, 82, of Ewing, New Jersey, passed away on July 24, 2026.

A proud graduate of Ewing High School’s Class of 1961, Phil began his career as an electrician and became a member of the IBEW Local 269 in 1962. Known affectionately as “P.T.” by his fellow electricians, he earned a reputation as a highly skilled craftsman, a dependable coworker, and a friend always willing to lend a helping hand.

Phil found happiness in life’s simple pleasures. He looked forward to Tuesday night card games with friends, enjoyed classic cars, Philly sports teams, music, dancing, outdoor concerts, and taking walks through Cadwalader Park. One of his greatest joys was spending time with his beloved “shared” dog, Winston, whether visiting the dog park or heading out together on new adventures. Around the neighborhood, Phil was known as the person who could fix just about anything and was always ready to help a neighbor in need.

Predeceased by his mother, Leontine (Donini) Ferrara; his father, Philip Ferrara; his brother, Michael Ferrara; and nephew, Erik (Ricky) Catob, Jr.

Philip is survived by his beloved Caroline; his sister, Karen (Erik) Catob; his sister-in-law, Karen Ferrara; his nieces, Donna Catob, Laurie (Harry) Whetstone, Lisa Catob, and Renee (David) Szkubiel; and his nephew, Nicholas (Carrie) Ferrara. He was also a proud uncle to his great-nieces and great-nephews, Michael, Devin, Tara, Jacob, Ashlynn, Zachary, and Addison, as well as several great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews, all of whom brought him great joy.

Phil was blessed with lifelong friendships, especially with his dear friend of many years, Joe Coult, and Joe’s wife, Renee.

He also cherished the wonderful neighbors who became like family. Among them were the Rancan family—Lisa, whom Phil loved like a daughter, and sons, Miles and Oliver, and their father Jeff; the Furman family—Heidi, Marc, and Andrew; and the Urena family—Elaine, Vicente, and their children, Elian, Emmanuel, Gabriel, Briny, and Osmeily.

Phil will be remembered for his generous heart, warm smile, quiet kindness, unwavering work ethic, and the lasting friendships he built throughout his life. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, neighbors, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Services were held privately and under the direction of the Buklad-Merlino Memorial Homes, Hamilton.

Phil was a lover of animals, a donation to EASEL Animal Rescue League in Ewing NJ or to any favorite animal welfare organization would be a wonderful way to memorialize him.
