Peter F. Thompson

August 7, 1945 - February 7, 2025

Peter F. Thompson, 79, of Yardville, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 7, 2025, at the Serenity Hospice Inpatient Unit at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.

Born and raised in Queens, New York, Peter moved to Hamilton in 1984, settling in the Yardville area. A proud U.S. Navy veteran, he was honorably discharged and went on to work for the Port Authority of New York for over 25 years before retiring. After retiring he worked part time at  Home Depot and then Radiology Affiliates.

An avid sports fan, Peter had a deep love for football and was a longtime supporter of the Philadelphia Eagles, as well as a devoted Flyers hockey fan. He found joy in summer vacations in Wildwood, and family barbecues. Above all, he cherished time with his family, especially his children and grandchildren, and had a special place in his heart for his dog, Trixie. Known for his great sense of humor, he brought laughter and warmth to those around him. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend who will mourned by all who knew and loved him.

Peter was predeceased by his parents, Peter and Lea (Romersa) Thompson; his in-laws, Jo and Will Curd; and his brother-in-law, Bob Tirloni. He is survived by his beloved wife of 42 years, Jerilyn M. (Curd) Thompson; his children, Paul Thompson, Krysti (John) Newton, Michael (Vanessa) Thompson, and Kara (Brian) DeBonis; his sister, Melinda Tirloni; nine grandchildren, Samantha (Scott) Robbins, Sydney (Nick) Newton, Gunnar (Abby) Newton, Alix (Eric) Newton, Brandon Thompson, Devin Thompson, Daniella DeBonis, Dominic DeBonis, and Dylan Jean Thompson; four great-grandchildren, Charlotte, Gianna, Leeah, and Theodore; in-laws, Jacki and Don Brand; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
