Paul S. McCormick, Sr., 91, of Florence, NJ passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 27, 2022 at Complete Care at Burlington Woods.
Born and raised in Lawrence Twp., he was lifelong Lawrence Twp. resident, most recently moving to Florence. He was a lifetime member of the Slackwood Volunteer Fire Company. Paul was an honorably discharged Army Veteran as well as a full time Army Air National Guardsman, having proudly served his Country.
He worked as a Helicopter Mechanic at the Mercer County Airport, retiring after many years of service. He then went on to help his son establish a family owned and operated business, Princeton Property Maintenance.
Paul and his wife Dorothy were foster parents for more than 20 years, helping many different young people along the way. He was very proud of their family tree and enjoyed researching their heritage.
He liked to take pictures to document the times spent together as a family, making lasting memories. They loved their family and friends, and their door was always open.
Predeceased by his parents, Paul Ezra and Mabel (Mains) McCormick; son, John Charles “Chuck” McCormick; siblings, Robert, Richard, Gloria, Clara and Marion; granddaughter, Megan McCormick; and his loving wife of almost 72 years, who passed away Monday, April 25, 2022.
He is survived by his children, Dottie (Yookie) Coon, Paula Franta, Paul S. (Joan) McCormick, Jr., Joe (Toni) McCormick, and David McCormick; 5 sisters, Patricia Engel, Shirley Dombroski, Alice Papiez, Connie Kaufman, and Carol McCormick; 19 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great grandchildren; a special nephew, Richard McCormick, Jr.; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many dear friends.
Visitation for family and friends will be held Tuesday, May 3, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at the Buklad-Merlino Yardville Memorial Home, 30 Yardville-Allentown Road, Yardville, and then again Wednesday, May 4, 2022 from 9:00 a.m.- 9:45 a.m. at the Jacobstown Baptist Church,
49 Jacobstown Arneytown Rd., Wrightstown, NJ 08562.
Funeral services will begin at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 4, 2022 at the Church.
Burial with honors will follow in Brig. General Wm. C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, North Hanover Twp., NJ.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions may be made to at the Jacobstown Baptist Church, 49 Jacobstown Arneytown Rd., Wrightstown, NJ 08562.
