Patricia M. Shaltis, 85, of Yardville, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at home, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born and raised in Croydon, Pennsylvania, Patricia made her home in the Yardville area for the past 62 years, where she built a life centered around faith, family, and community.
She began her career with New Jersey Bell Telephone before leaving the workforce to devote her time to raising her family. Once her children were grown, Patricia returned to work and went on to serve as an investigator with the State of New Jersey, Division of Gaming Enforcement. She retired after many years of dedicated service.
Faith was an important and guiding part of Patricia’s life. She was a longtime parishioner of St. Vincent de Paul Church in Yardville, where she generously gave of her time as a CCD teacher, helping to share her faith with younger generations.
In her spare time, Patricia enjoyed tending to her garden, but the greatest joy in her life was the time she spent with her family. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose warmth, kindness, and unwavering love will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Predeceased by her parents, George and Marie (Hesler) Grafenstine; and her siblings, Marianne “Sis”, George and Ken; she is survived by her devoted husband of 63 years, Denis Shaltis, Sr.; children, Denis, Jr., Douglas and wife, Carol, Daren, and Patrick and wife, Alison; her siblings, Roger (Kim), Francis, Rick (Terry), Linda (Doug), Steven, Karen, and Anita (Glen); grandchildren, Larissa, Tyler, Allie, Paige, Payton, Pierce and Olivia; great grandchildren, Oliver and Henry; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. -12:00 p.m. at the Buklad-Merlino Yardville Memorial Home, 30 Yardville-Allentown Road, Yardville, NJ 08620.
A prayer service will begin at 12:00 p.m.
Cremation and burial will take place privately.
