Michael V. Gribbin

Updated: Jul 10

December 18, 1959 - July 6, 2025

Michael Vincent Gribbin, 65, of Wrightstown, passed away peacefully on Sunday July 6, 2025, at Serenity Hospice Inpatient Unit at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He fought fiercely for 9 months with Pancreatic Cancer.

Born and raised in Trenton, NJ, Mike resided in Wrightstown for many years where he enjoyed the peacefulness of the country surroundings.

Mike was a Graduate of Hamilton High School West and attended Holy Angels School where he played basketball for the CYO and mastered his baseline jump shot. Growing up in Lalor Tract and White City he was the perfect team player, no matter what the game. He enjoyed playing Catch 5 on the school yard steps, a pickup game of basketball (where he always won) and he was an exceptional Quoit player. You could not ask for a better partner. He was also a fiercely loyal fan of the Dallas Cowboys and the Philadelphia Phillies.

Mike had a remarkable ability to see the best in people, and if you had the privilege of knowing him, you undoubtedly saw the very best in him. As most of his friends know, if you were meeting him for the first time and you didn’t already have a nickname, you were about to get one. Mike’s sense of humor and unmatching wit made him the king of one liner and one of his favorite lines was “We put the funk in dysfunctional”

Mike enjoyed every minute with his grandchildren and always made a point to show up and support them at their sporting events, school shows and never gave up when teaching them how to ride bicycles. Family was extremely important to him, and he always made sure to tell them he loved them.

Predeceased by his parents, John and Mary (Ridge) Gribbin; Mike is survived by his life partner, Laurie McLaughlin; son, Michael V. Gribbin, daughter, Farrah Mejia (Andres), son, Richard Johnson (Kristi), daughter, Sherri Wells (Josh); his sister in law, Lisa Gall (Michael); his siblings, Edward Gribbin (Jan), John D. Gribbin Jr. (Renate), Daniel Gribbin Sr. (Judy), Patrick Gribbin Sr., Peter Gribbin, Thomas Gribbin (Loren), and Sister Maryann Gribbin. His grandchildren, Rebecca (Jared), Ashley, Connor, Syenna, Ava and Amelia; nieces and nephews, Bridget Carson (Gary), Kristen Maiorano (Rocco), John D. Gribbin III (Sara), Daniel Gribbin Jr. (Katie), Vincent Gribbin (Lisa), Brian Gribbin (Jennifer), Patrick Gribbin Jr., Shawn Gribbin, Kyle Gribbin, Vanessa Gribbin & Thomas “TJ” Rockhill, Cameron Wahl, and Taylor Gribbin. He is also survived by several cousins, grand-nieces, grand-nephews and dear friends.

Friends and family are invited to join the family in remembering Mike on Wednesday July 16, 2025, from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm at the Buklad-Merlino Yardville Memorial Home, 30 Yardville-Allentown Road, Yardville, NJ 08620.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network https://pancan.org/

Mike was a wonderful person; you couldn't ask for a better friend. We were like family, sharing many happy times and laughter. I will truly miss him. Now he is with God, and we will be with Mike again one day.

We will miss Mike dearly.

Billy, Joey, and Anne.
