Martha J. Mahon entered into eternal life on Friday, February 28 with her loving family by her side.
Born on May 26,1923 in Trenton, New Jersey she was a longtime Mercerville resident. She was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows R.C. Church and their Altar Rosary Society. She was very devoted to the Blessed Mother.
She graduated from Trenton High School and worked as a secretary at Fort Dix, secretary to the Director of Religious Education at Our Lady of Sorrows and worked in the personnel department at Mercer County Community College. She was published multiple times in Reminisce Magazine, as recently as November 2019. She wrote numerous children’s short stories which she loved to read to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also loved to bake and sew and spend time with her family. She was loved by all and will be greatly missed.
Daughter of the late Tressa and James Caserta and wife of the late William L. Mahon, Sr., sister of the late Mary Woodworth, Josephine Marrazzo, Catherine Cirello, Ann Bennett, Julia Grogan, Thomas Caserta, Frank Caserta, Anthony Caserta, and Joseph Caserta; she is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, William and Patricia Mahon, her daughter and son-in-law Shirley and John Ferrie; grandchildren Mike, Pam, and Lisa Harding and Brittany Mahon, Frank Petrino and his wife Jennifer, Matthew Petrino, and Jack Ferrie; great-grandchildren Isabella and Kara Petrino, as well as many other nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may attend a visitation on Monday morning, March 2, 2020, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Buklad-Merlino Yardville Memorial Home, 30 Yardville-Allentown Road in Yardville. A Catholic prayer service will be held at 11 a.m. at the Yardville memorial home. Burial will follow in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to The Central Association of the Miraculous Medal, 475 E. Chelton Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19144.
