Marie (Marino) Gentilella, 95, of Yardville, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 25, 2025, at Serenity Hospice Inpatient Unit, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born in New York City, Marie was raised in the Hell’s Kitchen section, where she graduated from Washington Irving High School. In 1960, she moved to Yardville, where she proudly made her home for the rest of her life.

Marie was a devoted homemaker and a true caregiver at heart. Her family was her greatest joy, and she devoted her life to caring for them with love, kindness, and selflessness. As her children were growing up, she was an active volunteer, serving as PTA President and as the school librarian at Sunnybrae Elementary School.

She and her husband enjoyed traveling together across the country and abroad, taking many Star Bus Tours to beautiful destinations, including Italy and Aruba. A woman of deep faith, Marie was a longtime parishioner of St. Raphael’s Parish. Above all, Marie cherished her role as a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her love for her family was constant and unwavering, and she will be remembered for the warmth and devotion she gave so freely. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Predeceased by her parents, Frank and Rose (Rinaldi) Marino; her sister, Carmela Izzo; and her beloved husband, Angelo Gentilella, she is survived by her two sons and daughter-in-law, Michael Gentilella, and Frank and Sharon Gentilella; her three grandchildren, Lisa (Ryan) Loesser, Francesca, and Anthony Gentilella; her great-grandson, Michael Loesser; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, dear friends, and neighbors.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, August 28, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Raphael’s Church, 3500 South Broad Street, Hamilton.

Visitation for family and friends will be held prior to Mass from 9:30 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. at the church.

Entombment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery Mausoleum, Hamilton.

At the family’s request, please omit flowers. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8516 or online at www.woundedwarriorproject.org.
