Marie A. Billings, 87, of Hamilton, NJ., passed away peacefully on Friday, May 1, 2026 at Avalon Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Hamilton.
Marie was born in New York, NY on December 9, 1938. She came to Trenton, NJ at the age of 5 and attended St. Mary’s Catholic School and then Cathedral High School, both in the city of Trenton. She married her husband, John A. Billings, Sr. shortly after graduating high school and gave birth to 3 loving children over the next decade. She remained a life-long resident of Mercer County until her peaceful passing on May 1, 2026.
Marie’s career life was very versatile. She began working as a dental assistant at an early age. She then moved on to several other jobs including Westing House Factory, Park Place Restaurant, Epitax Electronics, Lawrenceville Preparatory School, and finally, the Elms of Cranbury Nursing Home, before retiring at the age of 75. More than anything, Marie enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking and baking, playing cards, and enjoying outdoor walks. Through her journey of 87 years, she touched many lives with her wisdom, humor, and an unwavering joyful spirit. She will be greatly missed and forever remembered.
Predeceased by her parents, Paul and Margaret (Colona) DeVita; her husband of 63 years, John A Billings Sr.; her sister, Nina Walsh; and her son, John A. Billings, Jr.; she is survived by her loving family, daughter and son-in-law, Margaret and Joseph C. Pratico; son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Paula Billings; four granddaughters and their spouses, Marie A. (Alex) Luisi; Brittany (Alyssa) Billings; Haley (Troy) Linser, and Nikki Billings; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.
At the family’s request there will be no services at this time.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Buklad-Merlino Memorial Homes, Hamilton.
