Louis J. Mandl, 90, of Fallsington, PA, and Manahawkin, NJ, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 17, 2025 at Southern Ocean County Medical Center, Manahawkin, with his loving family at his side.
Born in Trenton, NJ Louis was a longtime area resident. He was a proud honorably discharged veteran of the US Navy, Attack Squadron 106 where he served on the USS Intrepid. He then joined the Trenton Fire Department where he was employed for many years as a Chief’s Aid. Upon retirement, he spent most of his time at his shore home in Manahawkin. Lou enjoyed fishing, spending time at the ocean and Manahawkin Lake with his family, and doing handyman type jobs around the house, always willing to help his family and kids fix and repair their own homes. He was a proud member of the Retired Navy Gladiators Alumni, a group of retired sailors who served in the VA-106.
Predeceased by his parents, Albert and Katherine (Schwartz) Mandl; his son-in-law, John C. Carabello; he is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Frances (Fischer) Mandl; daughter, Suzanne L. Carabello; son Jason L. Mandl; grandchildren, Cora A. Mandl, Caden C. Mandl, Luca Charles Carabello, Adrienne Lynn Carabello; as well as many other relatives; Caroline Mandl, Marilyn Mandl, John Bates, Jim Colello, Anne Marie Fungi (Colello), Jimmy Colello, Kristen Mandl and many dear friends.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday, February 27, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 201 North Pennsylvania Avenue, Morrisville, PA 19067.
Burial of Cremated Remains will immediately follow in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery, 400 Woolsey Street, Hamilton, NJ 08610.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St Jude.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Buklad-Merlino Memorial Homes, Hamilton.
