Lois M. Choma Sherman

December 7, 1950 - April 17, 2025

Lois M. Choma Sherman, 74, of Trenton, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, April 17, 2025, surrounded by the love of her devoted family.

Born in Trenton and raised in Bordentown, Lois spent most of her adult life in Hamilton Township before settling in Trenton in her later years. A woman of deep faith and community spirit, she was actively involved in the life of New Covenant United Methodist Church in Hamilton, where she sang joyfully in the choir. More recently, she found fellowship and comfort as a member of Pearson Memorial United Methodist Church.

Lois had a deep love for nature and found great joy tending to her garden. Her greatest pride and happiness, however, came from spending time with her family—especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought light and laughter to her days.

She was the beloved daughter of the late Julius E. and Jane A. Baus Choma, cherished wife of the late Dennis Sherman, Sr., and dear sister of the late Donald “Bubba” Choma. Lois leaves behind a legacy of love in her son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Debra Sherman, Jr.; two sisters, Lynn Choma, and Cheryl Sapala and her husband James; three grandchildren, Faith Sherman, LeRoy Hutchinson, Sr., and William Hutchinson and his wife Kristi Lee; three treasured great-grandchildren, Leroy Hutchinson, Jr., Dennis Hutchinson, and Eleanor Hutchinson. She is also fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and lifelong friends.

A graveside funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 23, 2024, at 10 a.m., at Bordentown Cemetery, 210 Crosswicks Road, Bordentown, NJ 08505, with Pastor Jessica Stenstrom officiating.

Arrangements are under the compassionate care and direction of Buklad-Merlino Memorial Homes, Hamilton Township.
