Karl T. Luther, 75, of Hamilton, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family.
Born in Trenton, NJ, Karl was a lifelong area resident who took great pride in his roots and community. He honorably served in the New Jersey Army National Guard for six years, demonstrating his deep sense of duty and patriotism.
Karl worked for over 20 years as a maintenance mechanic with Melcor before retiring. Never one to sit still, he continued working as a courier for both Central Jersey Couriers and Capital Health Systems, where he enjoyed staying active and connecting with people. He was also a proud member of the American Legion Post 313.
In his free time, Karl found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He enjoyed spending quiet mornings fishing, tending to his garden, and cheering on his beloved Philadelphia Eagles every game day. His genuine nature, unwavering dedication to his family, and kind heart left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
Above all, Karl was a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.
Predeceased by his parents, Karl T. Luther, Jr. and Ann Eugenia (Hawrylo) Luther; and his sister, Kim (Luther) Funk; he is survived by his high school sweetheart and loving wife of 53 years, Ruth M. (Durkin) Luther; his daughter, Charise Nieves and husband Nelson; grandchildren, Gabriela Nieves and fiancé, Matthew Winwood, and Nelson Nieves, Jr.; brother-in-law, William (Kathy) Durkin; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Pierson; nephew, Edward Funk and fiancé, Heather Macauley and their family; nieces, Ravyn Therrell, and Tiffany (Joshua) Miller; dear friends, Joe, Murray and Nelson; as well as other relatives and dear friends.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, August 8, 2025 from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at the Buklad-Merlino Memorial Home, 2141 South Broad Street, Hamilton, NJ.
A prayer service will be held at 8:00 p.m.
Cremation and burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
