Julia Poulos

January 26, 1916 - October 13, 2022

Julia Poulos, 106, of Robbinsville, passed away peacefully Thursday, October 13, 2022, at Capital Health Systems at Fuld, Trenton.


Born in Dover, NJ, she was a resident for many years. She and her husband Thomas were snowbirds and wintered in Florida. After his passing, she moved to the Robbinsville area in 1998. She had a teaching degree and taught elementary school in Spring Lake and Rockaway prior to starting her family. Once her children were born, she focused on being an active mother and housewife. She was very involved in all aspects of the daily operations of the family farm, Poulos Dairy Farm, in Denville, NJ. She was a member of The Grange, a national farmer’s fraternal organization.


Julia was extremely passionate and supportive of education. She was a founding member of SciCore Academy in Hightstown, NJ. She was very supportive of her children throughout their lives, a great conversationalist, and she guided many family members on their career paths.


She was the oldest living member of the Robbinsville Community, and her birthday, January 26th , was named Julia Poulos Day. Julia was an avid reader, and a great lover of opera. She prayed daily, enjoyed beautiful flowers, and cared for her garden.


Predeceased by her parents, John and Mary (Ivan) Colvin; her husband Thomas A. Poulos, and her siblings, 8 brothers and 1 sister; she is survived by her son, Arthur and his wife, Danette Poulos; daughter, Julia Poulos and her husband, Jon Jorgenson; grandchildren, Christopher Poulos, Laura Poulos, Victoria Poulos, and Peter Poulos; and her devoted caretaker of 11 years, Stacey Strong; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends in the Wyndham Place Community.


Visitation for family and friends will be Tuesday morning, October 18, 2022,

from 8:30 – 9:30 a.m. at the Buklad-Merlino Yardville Memorial Home,

30 Yardville-Allentown Road, Yardville.


Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated thereafter at 10:00 a.m. at St. Vincent DePaul Church, 555 Yardville-Allentown Road, Yardville.


Burial will follow in Locust Hill Cemetery, Dover, NJ.


In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to the SciCore Research Institute, 156 Maxwell Avenue, Hightstown, NJ 08520.
