Joseph W. Salvatore, 57, of Hamilton, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 9, 2025, at the Serenity Hospice Inpatient Unit at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in Hamilton.
Born in Trenton, New Jersey, Joe was a lifelong resident of the area and a proud graduate of Hamilton High School West, Class of 1986. He dedicated 25 years of service to the New Jersey Department of Corrections, retiring with honor. A committed volunteer, Joe served many years with the Nottingham Fire Station, where his selflessness and camaraderie left a lasting impact.
Joe found joy in life’s simple pleasures: cooking hearty meals, fishing, hunting, and riding his beloved Harley-Davidson motorcycle. He cherished trips to the beach and was a passionate New York Yankees fan, never missing a chance to cheer for his team. Above all, Joe’s heart belonged to his family. His warm, generous spirit touched everyone who knew him, making him a man who was truly loved and admired.
He is survived by his father, Joseph Salvatore; his mother, Joan Meseroll; his daughters, Nicole Salvatore-McGinley (Dominic) and Gabrielle Salvatore; his sister, Jennifer Salvatore; his granddaughter, Gloria McGinley; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends who will carry his memory forward.
A gathering to celebrate Joe’s life will be held on Friday, August 15, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Buklad-Merlino Yardville Memorial Home, 30 Yardville-Allentown Road, Yardville, NJ.
A prayer service will follow at 6:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Joe’s memory may be made to the Nottingham Fire Station or a charity of your choice.

RIP Sal…..you never failed to make us laugh at work. You were always there to watch over the staff on 5ASU and lend a hand. I was so sorry to hear about your health challenges and your passing. You’re forever in our hearts. Carolyn D., St.Francis Medical Center 5ASU
Joe was a great friend and always ready to help. Even when he could hardly walk I will never forget him or the times he helped me through and the many good times we had! Rest in peace Joe. You will be missed!
Sitting here reading our text messages . It’s been a struggle since 2021. Always hoping for a better new year. Never really complaining, always being someone that everyone could lean on with an open door for all welcome. You were always a good spirit, an old soul, a kind heart and that laugh was loving. You finished what God wanted of you and now you can rest in peace! You may be gone and I know that you wouldn’t want me to shed tears but laugh. Laugh about our surf fishing adventures: being stuck in the sand, baiting other guys to help and then seeing you! Almost falling on my ass, trying to reel in the bluefish only for you…
They say that no parent should outlive their children. On Saturday, August 9,2025 I had the horrible experience of outliving my son. May you rest in peace. You’re not in anymore pain.
Love, your Dad
