Joseph (Joe) Cannon was born on April 29th, 1934, in Philadelphia, PA to Joseph and Ruth Cannon. Joe was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War and was incredibly proud of his service. Joe was an ardent Phillies, Eagles and Flyers fan and enjoyed attending Phillies games with his son, Mark. He always looked forward to spending time at his second home in Waretown, NJ, with his wife, Betty, and was known to frequently stump his family with U.S. history and sports trivia questions.
Joe was a patriotic, strong man with a great sense of humor. He was loving toward his wife, Betty, his “shotgun rider,” proud of his son, Mark, and enjoyed spending time and joking with his grandchildren. He believed in the importance of hard work and grit and instilled those values in his son.
