Joseph A. Czako

March 5, 1927 - June 25, 2019


Joseph A. Czako, 92, of Bordentown, passed away on Tuesday, June 25, 2019 in Samaritan Hospice at Virtua Hospital, Burlington, with his loving family by his side.


Born in Trenton, he was a lifelong area resident.


A Navy Veteran of World War II, Joe retired from U.S. Steel in Fairless Hills with over 30 years of service. In his spare time, he and his wife Loretta enjoyed spending time at their shore home in Tuckerton where Joe was an avid fisherman. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.


Son of the late Joseph and Lena Kardos Czako, brother of the late Margaret Katona, he is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Loretta Mahoney Czako; two sons and their spouses, Michael J. and Debbie Czako of Milford, Delaware, and Christopher J. and Judy Czako of Hillsborough, NJ, brother and sister-in-law, Edwin and Kathy Weeks; four grandchildren, Michael C. Czako and wife Geraldine, Rachael Czako, Alexander Czako, and Nicole Czako; three great grandchildren, Lucie, Jack, and Joseph; many nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members.


Relatives and friends may attend a visitation on Tuesday, July 2, 2019 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Buklad Yardville Memorial Chapel, 30 Yardville-Allentown Road in Yardville. A brief prayer service will be held 12:30 p.m. at the memorial home with local clergy officiating. Burial will follow in Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Wrightstown.


In lieu of flowers due to cemetery regulations, donations may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
