Johnny “John” Lugo, 85, of New Jersey, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, in DeLand, Florida.
Born and raised in Harlem, NY, John moved with his family to the Trenton area at the age of 14. He was a lifelong resident of Hamilton, NJ. He resided in Florida for the past three years with daughter JoAnn. A dedicated worker, he spent his career employed at various local factories while raising his family. A proud and passionate New York Yankees and New York Giants fan, John’s greatest joy came from the time he spent with his family and friends.
He was predeceased by his parents, Angelo and Jennie (Figuroa) Lugo; his eight siblings; and his beloved wife, Lucille Lugo. He is survived by his son, John Lugo, and his wife, Donna Fletcher-Lugo; his daughters, Karen Stango, and her husband, Ron Stango and JoAnn Fornes, and her husband, Manuel Fornes; his grandchildren, Matthew Lugo, and his wife Julia Lugo, Nicholas Stango, and Zachary Lugo; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
Funeral services will be held privately under the care of Buklad-Merlino Memorial Homes, Hamilton.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to any charity of the donor's choice.
