John W. Grala

May 3, 1933 - May 20, 2020

John W. "Pops" Grala, 87 of Groveville passed away peacefully at home, May 20, 2020, with his loving wife Mary by his side.


Born in Trenton, John resided in Groveville for the last 63 years. He was a parishioner of St. Vincent De Paul Church in Yardville. John proudly served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He retired from Occidental Chemical Company after 30 years of service. In his spare time, John enjoyed working outdoors, cooking and fishing. He took great pleasure in helping others.


John was predeceased in death by his loving daughters, Patricia Choromanski and Nancy Alphonse, as well as his parents, several brothers and sisters, and sisters and brothers in law.


He is survived his wife of 66 years, Mary, he is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, John and Wendy of Toms River, and Jim and Karen of Cream Ridge; two sons-in-law, Mike Choromanski, and Mike Alphonse and his wife Judy; grandchildren, Michael (Mel), Nicole (David), Steven, Kristin (Jesse), Alex (Emily), Jarrett, Adam, and Daniel; great-grandchildren; Gavin, Briella, Jesse, and Zoey; several nieces and nephews, especially Michele and Keith.


Due to public health regulations, funeral services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the direction of the Buklad-Merlino Memorial Homes, 30 Yardville-Allentown Road in Yardville.
