John C. Lippincott, Sr.

January 15, 1932 - September 5, 2026

John C. Lippincott, Sr., 94, of Hamilton Township, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 5, 2026, at Complete Care at Mercerville Center, surrounded by the love of his family.

Born on January 15, 1932, in Morrisville, Pennsylvania, John was the son of the late John J. and Eva McCue Lippincott. He grew up in the Broad Street Park section of Hamilton Township and graduated from Hamilton High School, Class of 1952. A talented athlete, John played soccer, basketball, and baseball during his high school years. His athletic accomplishments were later recognized with his induction into the Hamilton High School Hall of Fame.

John a Navy Veteran, proudly served his country during the Korean War era. While completing his training at the Bainbridge Naval Training Center in Maryland, he played baseball for the Naval Center. He later served aboard the USS Macon for two years before being honorably discharged from the United States Navy in 1955.

Following his military service, John returned home and built a long career with Hamilton Township Public Works, where he worked as an auto mechanic until his retirement in 1995.

John’s love of sports continued throughout his life, but perhaps more importantly, he enjoyed sharing that passion with generations of young athletes in his community. He coached with Hamilton Little Lads for 20 years and served as its president from 1976 to 1981. He later coached with Hamilton Babe Ruth from 1982 to 1995, serving as president from 1988 to 1992. John also dedicated 25 years of service as a Babe Ruth District 1 Assistant Commissioner. Through his many years of coaching and leadership, he gave countless young athletes the opportunity to learn, compete, and enjoy the games he loved so much.

Above all, John was devoted to his family. He treasured the many years shared with his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and the memories they created together will remain a lasting part of his legacy.

Son of the late John J. and Eva McCue Lippincott, John was predeceased by his daughter, Lori Povia; and his siblings, Edna, Geraldine, Donald, Grace, and Louise.

He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Dorothy Lippincott; his five children, Terri Jany (Frank), Jay Lippincott (Beverly), Michael Harding (Kathy), David Harding (Theresa), and Christopher Harding (Denise); his 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Tuesday, September 29, 2026 from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Buklad-Merlino Yardville Memorial Home, 30 Yardville-Allentown Road in Yardville. A brief prayer service will be held at 11:30 a.m. with local clergy officiating.

Entombment with full Military Honors will follow 12:30 p.m. at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 350 Provinceline Road, Wrightstown, NJ 08562.

In lieu of flowers due to cemetery regulations, memorial contributions may be made to Tunnel to Towers Foundation, 2361 Hylan Blvd., Staten Island, NY 10306.
