Jennie Rose (Cocciarelli) Vickers,95, of Whiting, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, surrounded by the love of her family while at the Pines Village in Whiting, NJ.
Born in Trenton, she was a longtime area resident. She worked from the State of NJ Dept. of Labor, retiring in 1989. Jennie was always full of life and she was loved by many. She was very active in her children and grandchildren’s lives and was active with her Whiting community clubhouse and volunteered for many events. Jennie loved animals and rescued many through the years. In her younger years, she was an active member of the Liberty Chapter of Deborah Hospital and was an avid bingo player. She was an attentive caregiver to her husband Allen for the last five years of his life, passing in 1991.
Predeceased by her parents, Americo and Speranza (Polverini) Cocciarelli; brothers, Abramo “Abe”, and Lelio “Leo”; and her beloved husband Allen Vickers; she is survived by her 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Vicki and Tim Snyder, and Carole and Pastor Michael Woods; 5 grandchildren, Janet (Floyd) Snyder Green, James Bailey, Jason (Lori) Snyder, Timothy Snyder and Sara (Tim) Woods Whitaker; 11 great-grandchildren, Ryan Prester, Christian (Jordan) and Jonah Green, Bailey and Drew Snyder, Emma and Grace Snyder, Kiera and Kadence Bailey, and Timothy and Harper Whitaker; 3 great-great grandchildren, Jedidiah and Mabel Green, and Wyatt Walker; as well as nieces Susan, Katherine and Janet Cocciarelli, Phyllis Potter, Louise Wilson; and nephew Harold Vickers; as well as many other relatives and dear friends.
Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, February 6, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, 1282 Yardville-Allentown Roade, Allentown, NJ 08501.
Visitation for family and friends will be held from 9:45 a.m. – 10:45 a.m. at the Church.
Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hamilton.
All services will be held at the church, under the direction of the Buklad-Merlino Memorial Homes, Hamilton.
