James (Jim) P. Turner, 68, of Hollywood Florida, passed away on Wednesday, June 18, 2025 in Hamilton, NJ.
Born in Trenton and raised in Hamilton Township, NJ, James was a graduate of Hamilton High School West and Stockton University. He later settled in Hollywood, Florida where he was a longtime resident. He retired after many dedicated years of service with the City of Hollywood as a marine safety officer.
In his spare time, he enjoyed swimming, reading, rooting for the Miami Dolphins and laughing with his friends and family.
Predeceased by his parents, John J. and Theresa Turner; and wife, Patty Turner; he is survived by his sons, John Turner and William Turner; a brother, John (Charlene) Turner; sister, Eileen Steward; his girlfriend, Rosalie Mulé; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, John and Pam McGovern, George and Anne Coppa and Thomas and Teresa McGovern; nieces and nephews, Ryan (Jennifer), Ben (Rebecca) and Jack(Tiffany) Turner, Jessica, Brian and Erin McGovern and Megan (Ashley) and Nicky Coppa; as well as many cousins and dear friends.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2025 from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at the Buklad-Merlino Yardville Memorial Home, 30 Yardville-Allentown Road, Yardville, NJ.
A prayer service will be held at 1:00 p.m.
Cremation will be private and at the convenience of the family.

I met JT and Patty in Hollywood. We were neighbors for five years. I really got to know them. I worked with JT for 30 years on the beach, PATROL, solid lifeguard and a great friend. We had some of the best times Denise and I will miss you very much and our hearts go out to the family keep the beer cold we will all be joining you someday rest in peace, my friend.

I met Jim during my rookie lifeguard summer in 1986. He was with his lifeguard friends from Shipbottom and Hollywood. Jim was so calm, kind and happy. I was fortunate to work with Jim in Hollywood for a few years. Jim and Patty were the most welcoming people and I was lucky to have them as neighbors and friends. Their boys are cut from the same cloth and I hope they find strength in their parent’s memories.
I'm a New Yorker who had a place in Hollywood. JT was the lifeguard on my beach and my best bud in Hollywood. He and his wife Patty always opened their home to me. I loved their sons Jack and Billy. We would cook together and we had many dinners together. JT made the best burgers on his grill! JT and I had the same taste in music and we would enjoy listening to CDs sitting in his backyard next to the pool, sipping on a few nice cold beers. It's safe to say his favorite group was the Band.
