James D. Harrison, 79, of Hamilton, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 17, 2025 at Serenity Hospice Inpatient Unit at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, Hamilton.
Born in Trenton, NJ he was a lifelong area resident, and retired from Homasote Co. after more than 40 years of service as a mechanic. In his spare time, he enjoyed spending time with his dogs, he loved animals, and scrapping.
Predeceased by his parents, William and Mary (Abbott) Harrison; and his late fiancé, Joan Flickinger; he is survived by his 2 sons and daughters-in-law, William Harrison and fiancé Jennifer Pecan, and Mark and Patrice Harrison; his girlfriend, Gloria Nemeth; his beloved canine companions, Millie and Barbara; a brother, William Harrison; 3 sisters, Ruth Williams, Dolores Harrison and Janet LoBue; a grandson, Robbie and wife Ann Harrison; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, January 22, 2025 from 11:00 a.m.
until 1:00 p.m. at the Buklad-Merlino Memorial Home, 2141 South Broad Street, Hamilton, NJ 08610.
A prayer service will begin at 1:00 p.m.
Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, Hamilton.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to any animal rescue of the donor’s choice.
