Jacob M. Engelman, 77, of Yardville, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 14, 2025, at home, surrounded by his loving family.
Born and raised in Trenton, NJ, Jacob was a graduate of Trenton High School. He was a proud Yardville resident, having lived there with his family for more than 51 years.
Jacob was an honorably discharged Veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard, serving his country with pride during the Vietnam War. He was a dedicated member and past Commander of Yardville VFW Post 491, and also belonged to the Bibb Shipmates, a group of Veterans who served together and held annual reunions throughout the years. He was employed by PSE&G and retired after more than 30 years of service. While his sons were growing up, he coached Sunnybrae Little League, creating lasting memories for many local families. An avid hunter and fisherman, Jacob enjoyed spending time outdoors and sharing his passions with those he loved.
Predeceased by his parents, Jacob and Ann (Suta) Engelman, and his son, Jason Engelman, he is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Joann Engelman; his son, Jeremy Engelman; his sister, Jill Engelman; as well as many cousins, other relatives, and dear friends.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, September 22, 2025, at 12:30 p.m. at the Brig. General Wm. C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 350 Provinceline Road, North Hanover Twp., NJ 08562.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Buklad-Merlino Memorial Homes, Hamilton.
