April 13, 1930 - June 26, 2026


Harold B. Carter, 96, of Trenton, passed away peacefully at Serenity Hospice Inpatient Unit at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, Hamilton, NJ.


Born in Plainsboro, New Jersey, Harold was a lifelong area resident and a proud Army veteran who honorably served his country during the Korean War. A skilled and talented welder, he had a passion for working on automobiles, particularly body work and rebuilding engines. In his leisure time, Harold enjoyed spending quality time with his family, friends, and neighbors. He also looked forward to trips to Atlantic City, where he created many cherished memories with those he loved.


Predeceased by his parents, Harrison and Helen (Miller) Carter; many brothers and sisters; and his beloved wife, Frances Carter; he is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Harry and Kellie Skoglund; 2 grandchildren, Nick Skoglund and Kate Skoglund; a special nephew, Ed (Kathy) Lapa, a niece, Karen Bonczkiewicz; many other nieces and nephews, other relatives and dear friends.


A Burial service with honors will be held on Wednesday, July 8, 2026 at 10:30 a.m. SHARP at the Brig. General Wm. C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 350 Province Line Road, North Hanover Twp., NJ 08562.


Services are under the direction of the Buklad-Merlino Memorial Homes, Hamilton.
