Gunther J. Kowalski

August 6, 1949 - April 21, 2024


Gunther J. Kowalski, 74, of Hamilton, passed away Sunday, April 21, 2024 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at Hamilton.

 

Born in Bamberg, Germany  he moved to the USA as an infant and was a lifelong resident of the Trenton/ Hamilton area.  He was employed with State of New Jersey as a security guard at the State House. He was very patriotic and loved eagles and had a huge respect for our veterans and the United States. He was an avid animal rescuer who was also very generous with Feed the Children, Shriners Hospital and Tunnel to Towers.  He was a devoted family man who adored his family.

 

Predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Christine (Schumm) Kowalski; and 2 sisters, Christina Kowalski and Helen Mucci ; He is survived by his wife of 50  years, Paula M. (Petrone) Kowalski; his son, Joseph Anthony Kowalski; his daughter, Alaina Kowalski; a sister, Teresa Manna and her husband Thomas; 3 nephews,  Daniel and Michael Manna and Vincent Mucci and wife, Jessica; a niece, Carla Harney and husband, Bill; as well as several great nieces and great nephews, other relatives and dear friends.

 

Visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, April 25, 2024 from  10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at the Buklad-Merlino Memorial Home, 2141 South Broad Street, Hamilton, NJ.

 

A prayer service will be held at 12:00 p.m.

 

Entombment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery Mausoleum.
