George R. Goldy, III

July 12, 1960 - May 22, 2023

George R. Goldy III, 62, of Groveville, passed away on Monday, May 22, 2023, at Capital Health Regional Medical Center at Fuld, with his loving family by his side.


Born in Trenton, NJ, he was a lifelong area resident. George was a graduate of Steinert High School, Class of 1978, and received an associates degree from Mercer County Community College.


He was an outstanding drummer who was a member of several area bands including Flying High, who performed at the Annual Jerry Lewis Labor Day Muscular Dystrophy Telethon, as well as the Steinert High School Marching Unit who presented the Pre-Game Show at Veterans Stadium for the Philadelphia Phillies.


George was an avid Phillies and Astros Baseball fan and played for the Hamilton Township Babe Ruth Baseball League as both a catcher and first basemen, on the solo occasion he started as a pitcher, he threw a no-hitter.


He was a longtime member of the Titanic Historical Society who cherished the opportunity to meet three of the actual survivors and had encyclopedic knowledge of baseball, movies, and music.

But most of all, George will be lovingly remembered as a man whose family was his greatest passion.

He is survived by his parents, George R. Goldy Jr and Mina (Shelton) Goldy; his son George “Reed” Goldy IV, and his wife Alison; his daughter Abigail Goldy; his sister Lee Ann Ondersin; Grandchildren Arwyn and Felicity; nieces, Denise Bongiovi and husband Joseph, and Michele Ondersin; as well as other extended family and dear friends.


Calling hours will be held on Thursday, June 1, 2023, 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at the Buklad-Merlino Yardville Memorial Home, 30 Yardville-Allentown Road, Yardville.


Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
