July 1, 1949 - June 26, 2026

George E. Ecker, Jr., 76, passed away on June 26, 2026.
George was born on July 1, 1949, to George E. Ecker, Sr. and Geraldine M. Ecker, nee Simpson, at St Francis Hospital, Trenton, New Jersey. He graduated from TCHS in 1967.
George was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Valerie Michelle Ecker, nee Ferrante, and his infant daughter, Jessica Ecker. He is survived by his sons; Justin Ecker (Suzanne), and Christopher Ecker; David Moore (Sarah) and his daughter Rachel Ecker ( Hector Diaz). Also surviving are his beloved Theresa Ecker McNinney, nee Pane, Carol Ecker, and his sisters Lynne Ecker Brandenburg (Lawrence), and Susan Ecker Reem (David). In addition are his beloved grandchildren: Kevin and Andrew Ecker; Shane and Raelyn Patterson, and Charlotte Diaz. He had many nieces and nephews with whom George was their favorite uncle. And his lifelong friend, John Toth.
As a lifelong resident of the Trenton-Hamilton area, George was a true Jersey Boy. He and his family would spend many weekends at Seaside Park and Island Beach State Park, where he and his friend, John would fish and protect their bait from the many foxes, and of course his children were along. George also enjoyed deep-sea fishing out of Belmar, and you could often find him with his children and their friends at the Jersey Shore.
At home, George would make delicious barbecue meals to enjoy around their backyard swimming pool or the Goldfish Pond he built for his daughter Rachel, often accompanied by the fresh produce from his garden. In the evenings he would play his guitar with his sons and daughter. George was a natural musician; he could hear a song once and then play it perfectly. George was a musical talent that the world never knew. He would also watch scary movies with his children. He always loved to play and laugh with children, and to scare the Trick-or-Treaters on Halloween. He enjoyed celebrating the gift of life that God had graciously given to him, and the forgiveness of the sins we commit while on our journey. He had superior mechanical skills and could repair any type of electrical appliances for his family and friends.
George will be greatly missed for his quick sense of humor, his love of nature and animals, and his compassion for the suffering.
Funeral services are private and at the convenience of the family.
