Fred W. Mershon, 81, of Hamilton passed away on Thursday, June 27, 2019, at RWJ Hospital Hamilton.
Born in Trenton/Hamilton he was lifelong area resident.
A Marine Corps veteran, Fred retired from the U.S. Post Office in Hamilton after 37 years of service. In his younger years, he was an avid golfer and fisherman. He was also a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians. A beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Son of the late Walter V. and Marie Gropp Mershon, husband of the late Patricia Ann Mains, father of the late William R. Mershon, he is survived by his two children, Susan Struble and her companion Noel Medina, James Mershon and his wife Stacy; special friend Janet Knight; his twin sister Elizabeth Walsh; brother John D. Mershon and his wife Kathleen; nine grandchildren, Lisa Miller, Heather Messina, Laura, Taylor, and Chelsie Mershon, Eric and Jared Struble, Matthew Woolverton, and Ilyana Medina; six great grandchildren, Alexia, Elizabeth, Delaney, Layla, Matthew, and Sophia; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, July 2, 2019, 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery in Hamilton Township.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Buklad Memorial Home, 2141 South Broad Street in Hamilton.
