July 8, 1929 - June 12, 2023
Frances Raywood, 93 of Yardville, who would of turned 94 on July 8, 2023, passed away peacefully Monday, June 12, 2023 at home surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Trenton, NJ she was a lifelong resident, living in the Yardville area for the past 54 years.
Frances was employed as a bookkeeper for her entire career, starting out at McGraw Hill then going on to work as an Executive Secretary with the Yardville Correctional Facility before retiring.
She was a longtime active pillar of St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church and was a member of their Altar Rosary Society. Frances was a very generous, giving woman who gave of her time and talents. She volunteered with the Deborah Heart and Lung Hospital, Bordentown Chapter, and the Catholic Welfare Bureau back in the 1950’s (currently Catholic Charities of Trenton)
In her spare time, she enjoyed bowling, and watching football games, especially Notre Dame, Fighting Irish. Frances traveled extensively with her husband. Later in life, she continued to travel with her cousins and friends, enjoying numerous trips to Italy and traveling out west to see her Fighting Irish play football in the Rose Bowl. She was always an active presence in her family’s life. Family was the most important part of her life, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmom, nonni, aunt and friend and will be dearly missed.
Predeceased by her parents, Salvatore and Anna (Castronova) Leammari; brother, Bernard “Ben” Leammari; her beloved husband, Joseph Raywood, Jr.; nephew, Sammy Leammari; and sisters-in-law, Rose Leammari, Sally Raywood and Doris Wargo. She is survived by her daughters, JoAnn Cassidy and John Howell and Katherine McPherson and husband Walt;
5 grandchildren, Keleigh (Michael) Szmauz, Kristyn (Ehrin) Jannell, Matthew (Amanda) Cassidy, Michelle (Rob) Young, and Robert (Justin) Cassidy; special nephews, Joseph Leammari, and Bernard Leammari;
8 adorable great grandchildren; as well as many other relatives and dear friends.
Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday, June 16, 2023, at 12:00 p.m. at St. Vincent DePaul Church, 555 Yardville-Allentown Road, Yardville.
Visitation for family and friends will be held prior to mass from 9:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. at the
Buklad-Merlino Yardville Memorial Home, 30 Yardville-Allentown Road.
Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hamilton.
