Dorothy Ann McCormick, 89, of Florence, NJ passed away peacefully on Monday, April 25, 2022 at Complete Care at Burlington Woods.
Born in Suffolk, VA, she was a Lawrence Twp., Mercer County resident for more than 70 years, before most recently moving to Florence. Dorothy worked as a bookkeeper for many local area businesses. She was a member of the Slackwood Volunteer Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary, started a Chapter for Burn victims working tirelessly to raise funds for their care. Along with her husband Paul, they took in and cared for many foster children.
Predeceased by her parents, Horace Edward and Gladys Mae (Brinkley) Lilley; beloved stepmother, Stella “memom”; son, John Charles “Chuck” McCormick; sisters, Frances and Donna; and granddaughter, Megan McCormick.
Her loving husband of almost 72 years, passed away on Wednesday, April 27, 2022.
She is survived by her children, Dottie (Yookie) Coon, Paula Franta, Paul S. (Joan) McCormick, Jr.,
Joe (Toni) McCormick, and David McCormick; brother, Edward (Jane) Lilley; a special nephew, Richard McCormick, Jr.; 19 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many dear friends.
Visitation for family and friends will be held Tuesday, May 3, 2022 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at the Buklad-Merlino Yardville Memorial Home, 30 Yardville-Allentown Road, Yardville, and then again Wednesday, May 4, 2022 from 9:00 a.m.- 9:45 a.m. at the Jacobstown Baptist Church, 49 Jacobstown Arneytown Rd., Wrightstown, NJ 08562.
Funeral services will begin at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 4, 2022 at the Church.
Burial will follow in Brig. General Wm. C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, North Hanover Twp., NJ.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions may be made to at the Jacobstown Baptist Church,
49 Jacobstown Arneytown Rd., Wrightstown, NJ 08562.
