Dominick DeSantis passed away peacefully in his sleep on Monday, January 5, 2026.
Family was always at the center of Dominick’s world. He was a devoted son to his parents Serafina (Sadie) and Carmine. He was also a loving, dedicated sibling to his brother, Steven. Dominick was an only child until the age of 16, when his younger brother Steven was born – a surprise that became one of the great joys of his life. Dominick and Steven shared an exceptionally close bond. Dominick was a trusted mentor to Steven, offering wisdom, support, and steady guidance throughout his life. Dominick even helped Steven choose his career. Steven is currently a successful accountant because of Dominick’s wisdom and guidance.
Dominick was very passionate about music and introduced Steven to many classic rock favorites like Rush, Led Zeppelin, The Eagles, Fleetwood Mac, Styx, and many others. This encouraged Steven to become a musician. He still loves playing music to this day. He owes his love of music to his brother, Dominick who also gave Steven his first guitar.
Dominick was a brilliant, and deeply curious individual. He was a lifelong learner with a passion for computers, cultures, religion, and history. He was an avid reader who always had several books close at hand. He delighted in learning challenging material and found joy in learning for its own sake. He even taught Steven calculus when he was in danger of failing his class.
Dominick was also a devoted sports fan. He followed baseball, football, tennis, and more. His father Carmine encouraged him to get into sports betting since he knew so much about sports already. He loved having spirited discussions with his cousin Phillip about their parlays for the day. He remained a loyal fan of the New York Mets and the Dallas Cowboys throughout his life.
Family was always at the center of Dominick’s world. He was the primary caregiver for his parents in their later years, providing them with loving and devoted care until their passing. He also loved cooking for family and friends. His buffalo wings were legendary. He also loved honoring family traditions by continuing to make several of Serafina’s favorite dishes for Carmine in his later years.
Dominick adored his sister-in-law, Jenny. He always knew she was the right woman for Steven. He cherished spending time in New Jersey with Steven and Jenny exploring new restaurants and playing with their dog, Yampers.
Dominick also adored his family in Florida. He loved talking frequently with his Aunt Bea, his cousins Phil and Lori, and their children Ryan and Jeffrey. He loved sharing his love of New York City with Lori, Ryan, and Jeffrey by taking them to iconic places like Wo Hop when they came up to visit.
Dominick will be remembered for his intellect, generosity, loyalty, guidance, and his deep devotion to family and friends. He will be dearly missed and his memory will live on in the hearts of so many people that loved him.
Services were private and under the direction of the Buklad-Merlino Memorial Homes, Hamilton, NJ.
