Cataldo R. Amico

August 7, 1926 - June 24, 2022

Cataldo Russell Amico, “Guy”, 95, of Groveville, passed away peacefully, Friday, June 24, 2022 at Care One in Hamilton.


Born in Trenton, NJ, he was a lifelong area resident. He was an honorably discharged Navy Veteran who proudly served his Country during WWII. Guy was employed with U.S. Steel and retired after more than 25 years of service. He was a life member of the Groveville Fire Company and was an original parishioner of St. Vincent DePaul Church.


Guy and his late wife Jennie enjoyed traveling cross county so much, they did it twice. They enjoyed spending time at the beach, especially Island Beach State Park, Beach Haven, and Barnegat Lighthouse. He also loved Big Band Music.


Predeceased by his parents, Rosario and Josephine Amico; his loving wife of 66 years, Jennie (Chepiga) Amico; sister Sadie Amico, his sister and brother-in-law, Grace and Idelmo Salmestrelli; and his brother, Salvatore Amico; he is survived by his three children and their spouses, Cindy Scudder Streck and her husband, Richard Streck, Russell and Lindy Amico, and Lorraine and Tom Tiberi; five grandchildren, Michael Scudder (Hilary), Laura Kohler (Josh Peryea), Stephen Streck (Bethany), Vincent Tiberi, and Paul Amico (Jennifer); sister-in-law, Margaret Amico; nine great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and other family members.


Visitation for relatives and friends will be held on Thursday, June 30, 2022 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Buklad-Merlino Yardville Memorial Home, 30 Yardville -Allentown Road, Yardville.


A prayer service will begin at 12:30 p.m.


Graveside services with honors will follow at the Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 350 Provinceline Road, North Hanover Twp., NJ, 08562.
