Bruce J. Hillman, Sr.

December 1, 1938 - June 9, 2025


Bruce J. Hillman, Sr., 86, of Bordentown, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 9, 2025, at Complete Care at Mercerville Center, surrounded by his loving children.


Born in Trenton, Bruce spent many happy years in Yardville before settling in Florence, NJ. A graduate of Trenton Catholic High School and Rider College, Bruce proudly served his country in the United States Army, where he achieved the rank of Staff Sergeant and was honorably discharged.


He began his career with Circle F and later dedicated 27 years to Heinemann Electric before retiring. Never one to remain idle, Bruce continued to serve his community as a Finance Manager for the Mercer County Courts, where he was respected for his diligence and professionalism. An avid reader, he rarely missed an episode of his favorite programs on the History Channel. He had a passion for travel, particularly cruises through the Caribbean.


Predeceased by his parents, Frederick and Kathryn Hillman; his in-laws, Charles and Helen Kreiser; his siblings and their spouses, Frederick and Joan Hillman, Robert and Mary Hillman, and Kathy and Thomas Cavanaugh; and his beloved wife of 62 years, who passed away earlier this year.


He is survived by his children, Bruce J. Hillman, Jr. and wife Donna, Mary Beth Harvell and husband Greg, and Peter K. Hillman and wife Beth; his cherished grandchildren, Justin (Kerry) Sharkey, Kyle Hillman, Scott Harvell, Christopher (Christina) Harvell, Elizabeth Harvell, Nicholas (Jamie) Hillman, Bret (Maranne) Hillman, Matthew Horner, Bryan Hillman, and Sean Horner; and four adored great-grandchildren, Allison, Penelope, Avalynn, and Miles. He is also remembered fondly by many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends.


Visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, June 12, 2025, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Buklad-Merlino Memorial Home, 2141 South Broad Street, Hamilton, NJ 08610.


A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Sacred Heart Parish, 343 South Broad Street, Trenton, NJ.


Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hamilton.


The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the compassionate staff at Complete Care at Mercerville for their kindness and support during Bruce’s brief illness.
