Barbara Duncan, 65, of Ewing, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 18, 2022 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at Hamilton.
Born in Trenton, and raised in the Yardville area, she moved to Ewing Twp. at the age of 18. She graduated from Hamilton High West Class of 1974 and went on to work for the State of NJ, Athletic Control Board and retired after 25 years of service. Barbara was a Past District President, Life Member and Past President of the Yardville VFW Post 491 Auxiliary, and she was Past President and Past County President of the Ewing American Legion Post 314 Ladies Auxiliary. Barbara was an animal lover whose true passion in life was painting and doing crafts under the name of Purrfect Designs. She was selected to design a painted ornament to represent NJ in the Smithsonian Sponsored Artwork Contest. The ornament was hung on a Christmas Tree on display at The White House, that represented artwork from all the 50 States.
Predeceased by her parents, Francis G. and Shirley M. (Lynn) Houston, niece, Jennifer L. Houston, grandson, Michael Duncan, Jr. and her canine companion Rosie; she is survived by her husband of 22 years, Gary G. Duncan; her children, Jeffrey Armstrong and Tara Armstrong Canty; siblings, William P. Houston (Sherry), Francis J. Houston (Francine), Beth A. Houston Lukacs (David) and Kelly S. Houston (Sally); stepchildren, Michael Duncan, Angela Duncan (Rob) and Stephen Duncan; grandchildren, Makenna Armstrong, Bella Armstrong, Abigail Armstrong, Riley Armstrong, Michael Canty, Rachel Canty, Travis Canty, Jr., Robert Canty, Stephanie Duncan Singarella (Chris), Brandon Jones, Michaella Flannery, Anthony Duncan, Kage Sabolcik, Andrew Duncan, and Brielle Reese; one great grandchild, Hope Jones; niece and nephews, Patrick J. Houston, Kimberly A. Houston Gleason and Dylan P. Houston,
as well as many other relatives and dear friends.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, October 27, 2022 from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at the Buklad-Merlino Yardville Memorial Home, 30 Yardville-Allentown Road, Yardville.
A prayer service will begin at 8:00 p.m.
Burial will take place privately and at the convenience of the family at the Brigadier General Wm. C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, North Hanover Twp., NJ.

I was very saddened to hear of Barbara’s passing. We shared a lot of happy memories working together at the SACB and I will always cherish our Craft Time Cuties Collective shared during our lunch breaks. Sincere condolences to the family and extending thoughts and prayers for peace and comfort always. 🙏🏽
My heart is with all of Barbara's loving family. I still cannot believe she is gone. But there are so many happy memories of good times together, and I can still hear her voice in my mind. I love you all, and pray that God will help you through this heartbreaking time.
