America Rivera

January 23, 1942 - August 13, 2025

America Rivera, 83, of Trenton, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at Capital Health Systems Regional Medical Center in Trenton, surrounded by her loving family and friends.

Born in Utuado, Puerto Rico, she moved to the Trenton, NJ area 50 years ago and remained a resident ever since. America was a devoted homemaker who found great joy in caring for her family. She especially loved cooking, tending to her garden, particularly her cherished rose bushes, and watching her daily novelas. Family was everything to America, she was happiest when she was surrounded by those she loved.  She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, godmother and friend, and will be missed by those who knew and loved her.  

Predeceased by her parents, Valeriano and Francisca Rodriguez, and her siblings, Edwin Rodriguez, German Rodriguez, and Carmen Celenia Rodriguez, she is survived by her four loving children, Juan Rivera, Luis (Sharon) Rivera, Francisca (John) Vierbuchen, and Jose Rivera; her brother, Efrain Rodriguez; many beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends. 

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. – 10:15 a.m. at the Buklad- Merlino Memorial Home, 2141 South Broad Street, Hamilton. 

Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. at St. Gregory the Great Church, 4690 Nottingham Way, Hamilton, NJ. 

Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, Hamilton.
